First, it is essential to understand that the mind, body, and spirit are interrelated. They each work together to make you who you are. It is a well-known phenomenon that when the body becomes ill, our mental health is likely to decline. Conversely, depression or anxiety can facilitate other forms of bodily illness. A healthy body promotes a healthy mind, and vice versa. What many don’t realize, however, is that the spirit bodies are just as involved in this equilibrium. Although the spirit body is not physical and is invisible to the untrained eye, it is just as important (and in some cases, more so) as the physical body and mind. When the spiritual body is imbalanced, illness is likely to manifest on the physical or mental levels as well.
It is critical to maintain our spiritual, mental, and physical health if we want to live our lives to the fullest. The goal of energetic healing is to promote the wellness of our spiritual body, which in turn fosters positive interactions between our mind, body, and spirit as a whole. However, it is important to recognize that true mastery in occult healing takes more than a weekend workshop or brief training; it requires extensive study and experience. Energetic healing is not without its potential dangers. When conducted by an experienced practitioner using proper techniques, it is quite safe. However, if someone uses flawed methods or has malicious intent, they can do more harm than good. This isn’t surprising; after all, you wouldn’t want a doctor performing even a minor surgery on you if you weren’t sure they knew how to do it correctly.
Globalization and the decay of tradition have led to a state wherein, for much of the world, spiritual healing is occult and unfamiliar. This has reached a point where many feel that the nature of spiritual healing is “unknowable.” In ancient times, there was much less confusion for spiritual cultures. Their holy men and women gained experience directly from masters with reputations spanning generations or from well-respected schools of long-standing traditions. Credibility was systematized. Nowadays, without a clear institution to trust, anyone from anywhere can claim to be an “expert,” often using techniques our ancestors would have found quite disturbing. The diluted forms of spiritual healing that have become popular over the years are often favored because of their marketable promises. Their offers are attractive to a society that desires immediate, effortless, and painless solutions, while catering to modern worldviews and sacrificing safety to achieve these ends.
We are all familiar with how health supplement scams operate. Disreputable doctors claim their new supplement product, made of exotic plants and a mysterious “patented technology,” will make you young again in 30 days—all without having to lift more than a single finger. Or so they say… The world is rife with people who make bold claims about their services. Many of them genuinely believe their snake oil product works. This creates confusion for people seeking solutions to their health problems. Weeding through charlatans and so-called “experts,” not knowing who to trust, is hardly ideal. Logically, not all health products are scams. Many are truly useful, and some have profoundly improved people’s lives. However, without expertise and experience, how can we discern the difference between a scam and a genuine solution?
The method for avoiding fake spiritual healers is the same as for avoiding fake doctors. There are three things most often promised by untrustworthy individuals in any area where there is money to be made: immediate results, without effort, and without discomfort.
Getting what we want, when we want it, without having to work for it or endure discomfort is an enticing offer in general, let alone the promise of rejuvenated health. Nothing is more marketable than these three things combined. However, very few things in life are simple enough to offer such an easy solution to our problems. As appealing as it might be, we must be cautious when investigating such offers. If a doctor claims to have invented a dietary supplement pill that will make you look 30 years younger in 30 days with no effort involved, most of us would roll our eyes and stop listening halfway through the pitch. It’s too good to be true and obviously untrustworthy.
Similarly, it is equally suspicious when energy workers and spiritual healers claim their abilities are so sophisticated that they can deliver immediate results without effort or discomfort. Usually, though, it’s not so obvious. There is an uncertain middle ground, and discretion must be exercised in each case. It is not a matter of spiritual healers being weak or their abilities lacking potency; it’s simply not how healing works in general. Unless someone has a single specific problem that can easily be resolved with a specific solution, it takes time to address all the underlying factors contributing to the illness.
For example, if a person is struggling with chronic headaches and lethargy, there may be multiple causes for the symptoms. Most likely, the symptoms are caused by a variety of factors, and unless each underlying factor is treated, the headaches and lethargy will persist even if one cause is addressed. However, it’s also possible that the person suffers from simple iron deficiency, and taking iron supplements could be an almost effortless and painless solution that yields fast results. Sometimes symptoms can be resolved this way, but normally this is not the case. The body (and spirit bodies) are so complex and multifaceted that even if pain is felt in one area, its cause may be entirely different.
Spiritual healing and physical healing are similar in this regard. However, because people are often uncertain of what is real in the spiritual world, it is easier to make certain claims that may seem plausible but are untrue. Just as many are deceived by unhealthy diet fads due to a lack of scientific knowledge, a lack of spiritual knowledge may lead us to place faith in the wrong channels. Remember, the degree of confidence with which someone claims to know the truth is not necessarily indicative of its accuracy. Fast results without having to endure discomfort are not inherently bad. There is no shame in avoiding pain and excess work wherever possible. Just keep in mind how our natural instinct to take the easiest path to our goals can be exploited.
One of the most common misconceptions about spiritual healing is the belief in universal love as a cure-all for the soul. Almost every religion or spiritual system emphasizes this as a major aspect of health and well-being. Some refer to it as God, bliss, cosmic life-force, love, universal energy, or source. It has many names, but the core experience it provides is the same: a sense of interconnectedness with all things, profound pleasure, and gratitude for existence. Many consider it the “meaning of life.” This is not without reason; human beings naturally gravitate toward things that make us feel good. We want to feel safe, healthy, wealthy, and happy, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Experiencing this type of love is very healing on all levels. All living things are nourished by this positive energy. Scientists recognize that happiness itself promotes bodily health and can resolve traumas at a biological level. There is no doubt; feeling good benefits us. Allowing ourselves to receive and cultivate this positivity in our lives is very powerful. Most methods of energy healing utilize this phenomenon in some way. However, many people do not realize that it is natural to feel uncomfortable during the healing process, regardless of whether the energy involved is positive. This is true for every level of healing: spirit, mind, and body.
On the bodily level, detoxification is essential for reclaiming and maintaining health. The principle is straightforward: when we ingest toxins faster than the body can expel them, they accumulate over time, leading to a range of health issues, from fatigue and digestive problems to chronic diseases. Whether these toxins come from unhealthy foods, polluted air, chemicals, parasites, or diseases, the body must either break them down into harmless components or expel them as waste. Practices like saunas or intense workouts stimulate the body’s detoxification processes by promoting sweat and circulation, helping to rid the body of these toxins. This is why after a good sauna session or workout, there is often a euphoric lightness—it’s the body purging what no longer serves it.
However, the journey to better health is not always pleasant or easy. Transitioning from a state of sickness, obesity, or poor lifestyle habits often comes with discomfort. Detoxification and adopting a healthier lifestyle can bring physical and emotional challenges, whether it’s the soreness from exercising neglected muscles or the cravings and irritability accompanying dietary changes. It’s a process that forces the body to confront the very toxins and habits that caused the imbalance. The path to health requires discipline and persistence, and although it can be uncomfortable—whether through aches, fatigue, or emotional withdrawal—this discomfort signals healing. Over time, these challenges give way to greater vitality, improved health, and a renewed sense of well-being.
On the spiritual level, the principle is the same. Many understand the importance of keeping the chakras clear and unblocked, but the energetic bodies extend far beyond this simplistic view. These bodies are intricate, layered, and vulnerable to both external and internal influences. As we cleanse ourselves of impurities, we often confront attachments and patterns that no longer serve our greater good. Energetic cords—connections binding us to people, places, or experiences—can act as conduits for energetic parasites, feeding off our vitality without our conscious awareness. The process of cutting these cords can lead to a profound sense of loss, as though we are shedding pieces of ourselves. Simultaneously, we must face our shadows, often before we feel ready. These shadow aspects of ourselves emerge as we delve deeper into our healing work. Left unchecked, such energies can accumulate into imbalances, manifesting as emotional, mental, or even physical ailments. Releasing these toxins from our energetic bodies is not merely about achieving clarity; it is about reclaiming our sovereignty from influences that do not serve us, be they our own shadows or external parasitic energies.
Clearing both the physical and energetic bodies is crucial for achieving a sharp and heightened state of mind. Just as physical toxins can weigh down the body and cloud cognitive function, energetic impurities also interfere with the mind’s ability to focus and maintain a strong connection to higher awareness. Both types of impurities act as obstacles, creating mental fog, emotional imbalance, and disrupted concentration. By detoxifying the body and releasing these energetic attachments, we open up space for clearer thinking, sharper focus, and enhanced mental clarity. This purification allows the mind to align with the broader energetic system, operating at its full capacity with improved cognitive function and deeper awareness.
