During our nightly calls, I’ve been sharing some exciting news about the upcoming classes we’ll be starting next month. These classes will focus on teaching Shinto meditations, similar to those we practice during our group sessions. The goal is to help each participant deepen their connection to themselves and strengthen their spiritual practice on a daily basis. I will be updating this list in time.
In addition to meditation, the curriculum will include around 150 hours of Japanese language instruction. This portion of the course is designed to teach students how to accurately recite and memorize the norito, which are traditional Shinto purification prayers. Not only will we focus on memorization, but we’ll also delve into the proper techniques and spiritual significance behind using these prayers in practice.
The classes will be structured to balance both Shinto practice and Japanese language learning. For the Shinto aspect, we’ll meet three nights a week. These sessions will guide you through meditative practices, ritual techniques, and other exercises meant to cultivate inner growth. For the Japanese instruction, we’ll have four to five sessions each week, focusing on language skills that directly support the recitation of the norito. This comprehensive approach ensures that students are not only developing spiritually but also gaining the linguistic tools needed to engage deeply with Shinto rituals.
To fully benefit from the classes, students will need to gather various items to aid in their learning and spiritual development. These materials will support the mind, spirit, and body as they progress through the lessons. The staffs are not available on Amazon, so I will be ordering them and shipping them directly. In the future, and as you advance, there will be a few more things added to the list, but these will be the only major purchases as far as items.
While I plan to offer in-person classes for those who are able to attend, the majority of sessions will be conducted via Zoom for convenience and accessibility. The cost for the full program is $200 per month, which covers both the meditation and language components. However, the daily group healings will continue to be offered free of charge, as part of our ongoing commitment to support the well-being of all who seek it.
